| Both beds with pegs and beds with holes in the rails for ropes are roped in basically the same way. Use only hemp rope of an appropriate diameter. Nylon and cotton stretch forever. Even hemp needs to be tightened several times before it stops stretching. |  (Click on image for larger picture.) |

| Tie off at the beginning. Any knot will do. | Begin by roping lengthwise, starting on one side of the head of the bed, in the manner shown. |

| Make the corner as shown. If your bed has holes in the rails for ropes rather than pegs, go through the hole, then under the rail in front of the bed post. Then lace the rope back and forth between the side pegs, going under and over the lengthwise ropes in a basket weave. (It's a two-person job.) | |

When you get to the end, tie the rope around the last peg. Then go back to the start and work from peg to peg (or hole to hole) pulling the rope as tight as possible. Re-tie the last knot securely. |
